How To Do A Cross Kick

Instructional Video

Written Instructions

  1. Lay flat on your back with your legs fully extended out in front of you, have your arms palms down by your sides.
  2. Lift your legs slightly off the floor, keeping them straight.
  3. Brace your core, holding this position alone should be recruiting your core muscles.
  4. Begin by sliding the legs apart so they go wider than hip width apart.
  5. Bring them back toward the centre but cross one leg over the other so they get a greater range of motion.
  6. Take the legs apart again and as you bring them together for the 2nd time cross the other leg over.
  7. Your core should remain tight the whole time and your legs should remain straight as low to the floor as possible.
